Food gift ideas
Ever suffered from ‘gift-block’?
The horrible wall you hit when trying to find the perfect present for a loved one or colleague. I get it all the time. Especially around Christmas.
But because I’ve experienced it so often, I know exactly how to beat it and deliver a great gift every time.
Want to know how I do it? Here’s my secret:
We all drink. We all eat. So who wouldn’t love big a foodie hamper?
There are very few times in my gift giving life that chocolates haven’t gone down well. And even then, people nearby enjoyed the gift, even when the intended recipient didn’t.
If the person you’re having trouble finding a gift for has a sweet tooth, go chocolate mad.
Don’t like chocolate? No problem, there are so many sweetie hampers out there I promise that you’ll find something that they do like.
The meat eater
A hamper of raw meat?
Not quite. Not only would that stink, but it’d look pretty gross too.
No. I’m suggesting a hamper of dried, cured meats such as Biltong and Droewors. They can snack away without having to cook a thing!
Cheese fanatics go crazy over a cheesy hamper. Trust me. I’ve seen it happen.
So if you have a friend with an acquired taste for all things cheese head out and pick up the weirdest, smelliest cheese you can find. These are the ones the fanatics love the most.
But remember; don’t buy it weeks in advance. It’ll end up going off and being all kinds of bad smelly.
It isn’t going to be hard to find a fruit basket for your fresh, juicy fruit loving friend. You can even build your own.
You just need to make sure that you know what fruit they love, and what fruit they don’t.
Lastly, make sure you pick up a bottle of wine to finish their gift off.
Nothing goes better with food than splash of wine.
